Leanna Boyd, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Leanna Boyd was born and raised in San Jose, California, and graduated from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. She has an interest in exotic and wildlife medicine and before and during veterinary school she volunteered and completed multiple externships with organizations including The Marine Mammal Center, the Oakland Zoo, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and the South Florida Wildlife Center.

Dr. Boyd spent the last year completing a rotating small animal internship in Hollywood, Florida where she learned emergency and urgent care medicine for dogs and cats. She was fortunate enough to continue her passion for exotic and wildlife medicine during her internship through rotations with Zoo Miami and a private practice in South Florida that specialized in exotics. After completing her internship, she has moved back to California with her husband Kody and is excited to get back to outdoor activities (no more Florida humidity!) like hiking, camping, paddle boarding, going to festivals (art and wine, renaissance, etc.) and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Boyd works with dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and avian species. Her hobbies include reading (historical fiction, fantasy, and science fiction), going to the beach, playing board games, exercising, outdoor activities and going out to eat with loved ones. She has two dogs- a very spoiled dachshund and a one-eyed chihuahua.
